Louis Smoller has focused his practice primarily in the areas intellectual property (copyrights, trademarks), entertainment, corporate, and new media law, both at the transactional and litigation levels. His clients have included artists, musicians, record labels, photographers, models, production companies, actors, new media entrepreneurs, and other creative types.
Prior to joining Savur Threadgold LLP, Louis worked for the Bradley Legal Group, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he notably was part of a team that successfully defended a multi-million dollar Federal Trademark and Patent Infringement action before the Southern District of Florida. In 2012, Louis was appointed to the board of directors for Jazz Archive, Inc., a not-for-profit organization focused on the recording and preservation of jazz music in South Florida.
Louis received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami and is licensed to practice in the State of Florida and Southern District of Florida. Prior to his legal career, Louis earned his Bachelor degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida and performed as a professional musician, playing hundreds of shows across the United States. Louis was raised in South Florida and before relocating to New York in 2013, proudly missed only a handful of University of Miami football games between 1989-2012.
